I’ve had a lot of questions about how I made £1000 in my first couple of months of sports betting. The short answer is it was easy.
I spent a few hours setting it up then around 2-3 hours per week checking the tips, placing the bets, watching for the results and checking my winnings! It might sound like there is a lot to do but once i’d set up my accounts and placed my first bet it’s been so simple, just like shopping on Amazon or Ebay. I just follow the tips on BetCraft plus some slightly more advanced strategies I’ll explain in future posts.
In the next 3 posts I’m going to break down exactly what you need to do step by step in a really easy to follow guide to get started. But first here are few key points to remember about following these tips:
The tips have making people money week on week consistently since they started as you can see here
It takes less than 2-3 hours a week
Following all of the tips I made over £500 last month
That is tax free money, betting duty was abolishing in 2001 so there is no tax to be paid on your winnings in the UK. You don’t even need to declare it to HMRC
These are the first 4 of 12 basic steps I took:
1. Choose which bookies to use
To place the bets that our resident BetCraft professional Gavin recommends you need to have accounts with the bookies that he uses too. It’s free to sign up and if you use the BetCraft links in the bookmakers page
you’ll get some huge free bets and bonuses. (These are affiliate links which Gavin talks about in his blog post in which we may earn a commission but our neutrality will never be affected).
These are the most commonly used
If you already use these bookies then you are ready to go and can skip ahead to #3
If you don’t have accounts with these bookies then my recommendation is to open a couple of them first to get up and running placing bets then you can add the rest later as they come up in the tips. Any bookies that you aren’t set up with will mean you can place fewer bets and will have fewer opportunities to make the money that the tips can generate, potentially missing out on the winners. Remember that as odds can vary so much between the bookmakers, the more you have, the better chance you have of getting those top odds.
2. Open accounts with bookies via affiliate links
To place a bet with a bookie you need to have an account with them. This works like a bank account with the bookie, when you place a bet you’re buying something so the money goes out of your account to the bookie’s account. If your bet wins then the winnings from that bet come straight back into your account. If your bet loses then the money you used for the bet is the bookies and it stays with them.
When you click on the bookies link in the BetCraft bookmakers page it will take you directly to their sign up page. All you should do (each one can be different) is enter your name, email and a password and you’re signed up.
I’ll take you through a more detailed step by step guide to account opening in the account opening post
3. Online or in store? Mobile or desktop?
You can place a bet with a bookie in two main ways, online or in their betting shop. As you’re reading this blog online I’m going to assume you’re more likely to bet online too so that’s what I’ll focus this series of posts on. Bookies like most other businesses now have mobile apps as well as desktop sites that you can use to bet. There are pros and cons to both that I’ll go into in more detail later. For now I think it makes sense to try both
4. Download apps
To download the bookies’ apps go to the app store if you have an Iphone and search for that bookie eg bet365. Choose to ‘get’ the app and wait for it to download. Once downloaded you can ‘open’ the app directly from the app store. If you have an android phone you will need to go directly to the bookmaker’s website as gambling apps are not allowed in the store. You should already have a log in from the account section so go ahead and log in to your account
That’s it for today, lets recap
You can make approximately £50 hour
You chose your first two bookies
You opened accounts with them
You downloaded their apps
