Paddy Power are the one bookie that actually succeeds in injecting a bit of humour into betting. They have made a name for themselves by offering ‘interesting’ novelty bets and paying out early (they claim to have lost over $1 million on paying out a Clinton victory), but these are just shrewd tactical plays as they have differentiated themselves from the rest.
Regarding the site itself, their offers are nothing special and their lack of currency options is surprising…until you understand that, unlike Bet365 or Bwin, Paddy Power aren’t trying to conquer the world, they know the British and Irish punter inside out. They site is bright, easy to use and instantly recognisable and for the casual punter you can’t go far wrong. For a more serious gambler, their limits are high BUT, should you win regularly dont’t be surprised to see your limits slashed. So, fantastic for the casual, not so great for the pros!

Money Back Specials
Paddy Power offer a range of money back specials on major sporting events throughout the year. Each offer is different and there would be no value in reviewing the current ones because they would probably have changed by the time you read this!
As I can’t comment on all current offers I will give this piece of general advice. Money back offers from any bookie are rarely a game-changer. The odds of what is needed to happen actually happening is generally very small so never place a bet at a particular bookmaker just for the offer. If, however, the odds are equal to, or better than the rest of the market, and there is a money back offer then that is the time when you should place the bet.
Best Odds Guaranteed
Take an Early Price (EP) or Board Price and if the Starting Price (SP) is bigger they will pay you at the bigger price. Applies to UK and Irish Horse races.
If you take a price that subsequently drifts in the market but goes on to win, you will get paid at that higher price. This offer is standard among mainstream bookmakers and I would go so far as to say that if it is not offered then you should place your racing bets elsewhere.
Place an acca with 5 legs or more on various markets and they will refund losing bets where only one leg lets you down, up to a maximum of £/€50 as a free bet on football. Available for 4 accas per day and bonus funds will expire if not used within 7 days. Each leg must be placed at odds of 1/5 or greater unless from one of the following leagues:
English (Premier League, Championship, League One, League Two, FA Cup, EFL Cup, League Tropy); Scottish (Premiership, League One, League Two, Scottish Cup, Scottish League Cup); Champions League; Europa League; Senior International Matches;
Apart from the fact that the max refund is £50 (as opposed to the usual) and that can do up to 4 per day (as opposed to just 1 as offered by many bookies), this isn’t that great. I don’t like the restrictions on the leagues that are included in the offer and I don’t understand the reasoning either. These days plenty of people include European games in their Acca, especially using Barca or Real to boost the odds a bit; it is a shame to see Paddy Power taking away this option for the refund.
