Sports Betting 101 – how I made £1000 part 3

Posted on 0 232 views

This is the 2nd part of my 3 part step by step guide to getting started making approximately £50 per hour with BetCraft’s tips. If you haven’t followed the steps in post 1 then please go back and start there first. Once you’ve done that you will have your accounts opened at 2 bookies and be ready to start placing bets.
But first here are few key points to remember about following these tips:

The tips have making people money week on week consistently since they started as you can see here
It takes less than 2-3 hours a week
Following all of the tips I made over £500 last month
That is tax free money, betting duty was abolishing in 2001 so there is no tax to be paid on your winnings in the UK. You don’t even need to declare it to HMRC

Lets get back to the guide, here’s step 5:

5. Deposit to your accounts

In order to place a bet you need to have money in your account with the bookie. You need to deposit the money in your bookie account BEFORE you can place a bet as the bookie needs you to pay for the bet before the final result is known.

If this is your first time betting I’d recommend depositing £50 as a sensible amount to get started with – remember you can take the money back out anytime you want.

Each bookie has a slightly different deposit process but they will require you to use your debit card. It works in the same way as online shopping, enter your card details, the amount you want to deposit and click ‘deposit’. You should see you balance immediately showing £50. If you have used one of our free bonus links in the resources page then you might also see an additional bonus amount added to your balance too, up to £200!

Great, now you’ve completed the initial set up you’re ready to start making money!

6. Betcraft 5* rating

Not all tips are the same, some are better value than others. Value just means how much better the odds are than they should be, the greater the value the better the deal is for you. And if you find a good deal you should bet more on it – that’s how the 5* system works, the higher the * rating the more you should bet on it. Gavin has explained in more detail here and here
You decide how much you’re going to bet by the bet’s rating, for your first few weeks I recommend

1* £5
2* £6
3* £7
4* £8
5* £9

7. Choose which tips on betcraft to follow

The best place to start is to go to the most recent tips and work backwards. This makes more sense as the matches / races in some of the older tips will already have happened or the odds may have changed (unfortunately you can’t bet on events that have already taken place, bookies don’t like to have that disadvantage!). That’s the way they are arranged in the blog, if you click on tips you will see the most recent first

Go to the ‘Tips’ section on the blog and open the first one that appears in the list. Once you’ve read the details and you like the sound of the bet then click ‘place your bet here’ to go to the bookies site

8. Place bets

Now you should be on the bookie’s site. You will be able to locate the market through the site menu and select the correct bet.

Now you want to place the bet. First you need to decide how much you want to bet, the bigger your bet the more you could win but also lose. Remember, the tips are making money over the long term.

To get started choose the amount you’re going to bet based on the star rating in step 6. If it’s a BetCraft 5* tip then £9, if its 4* then £8 etc. Check the details match those in the tip on BetCraft, enter the amount as your stake (the amount you want to bet) and click ‘bet now’.

9. Check your bet

Congratulations! You’ve placed your first bet and you’re on the way to making hassle free, tax free money!

Once you’ve placed your bet you need to check everything was processed OK. You can do that by going to ‘My Bets’, each bookie is slightly different but they all have a section where you can check what bets you’ve placed. Details of the bet will be shown, just compare this against the tip in BetCraft and make sure it matches, along with the stake you placed.

Ok, lets recap what we covered in this post:

You deposited to your accounts
You learnt about the betcraft 5* tip rating
You chose a tip to follow
You placed the bet
And confirmed the bet looks correct
